How to stay healthy as a working professional

Eat well, try not to eat at your desk, chew your food, and vary what you eat. I ate the exact same dinner, mu shu pork, for ten weeks straight during my internship because it was easier to just hit the “reorder” button on Seamless Web.


Take the two extra minutes to peruse your food options on seamless. And do everything in your power to eat before 7 pm, ideally 6 pm, I know this can be hard many banks won’t even let you order food before then. One way around this on your bank’s seamless site is to place the order to be delivered at the earliest allowed time, say 7 pm, then call in directly to the restaurant you ordered from and ask that deliver it immediately.

  
Sleep. This is the most difficult aspect, but probably the most important. 99.9% of humans need 7-9 hours of sleep a night, despite what anyone tells you about sleeping 4 hours and feeling fine. There are so many studies on the benefits of sleep. Sleep provides the mechanism to move your short-term memories into long-term memories. Sleep is when your body and brain detoxes, it’s when your muscles grow.


Relax: Meditation, a lot of my hedge funds friends are getting into. Especially immediately before bed to calm the mind to get a more restful night.
